Get Active @ Mazzard Farm

Fancy an active holiday? We may be just the right place for you. We offer walking, running, mountain biking and road cycling options direct from Mazzard Farm, and plenty more options in the immediate area, horse riding at 15 minutes and more golf courses than you could even dream of playing in a week. And all of this in stunning countryside, with land and seascapes that will make you come back for more.

Also, if you’re attending one of the many local Sporting events, such as the Great West Run in Exeter, or the Grizzly, please note we are only 15 minutes away from each of these, and we have a drying room for your gear, as well as beautiful ‘warm up/cool down’ terrain for before or after your efforts.

Bikes are available for rent locally, and there are some great routes direct from Mazzard Farm, both on-road (quiet country lanes) and off-road. Some good links to look at include:

There is simply too much to list here. In the immediate area of Mazzard Farm are walks for all abilities, and ranging from a casual 30 minute stroll to a full day of action. We provide countless maps and guide books. Please do contact us if you have any questions.

Check out the East Devon AONB website for example, or South West Coast Path.

Horse riding

East Devon is a haven for any form of horse riding, whether in a school or enjoying the countryside on a hack. We like Devenish Pitt.

For example, try East Devon Golf Club at Budleigh Salterton, Woodbury Park, or Sidmouth Golf Club.

We have been able to agree reduced green fees with some of these courses.

So whether you want to just play one or two of these courses during your family holiday, or wish to book a special golf break at Mazzard Farm, contact us now, and we will happily provide you with as much information as you require. 4-day golf breaks start from £175 per person (based on 4 sharing, accommodation and green fees included).

And finally, if you fancy watching some high level sport, the mighty Exeter Chiefs are only 20 minutes away, as is (the only slightly less mighty) Exeter City FC.
