More and more people are putting great emphasis on the food they eat, and we have taken that knowledge on board when developing Mazzard Farm. For that reason, we provide you with great kitchens, full of high quality tools. All cottages have 4-ring ceramic hobs, a full oven and a microwave, as well as well laid out work surfaces. Quarenden, Medlar and Pippin cottages also have dishwashers.
With the help of our vegetable garden, our chickens and farmer neighbours we can help you with lovely fresh produce, and as a little touch, each cottage has been provided with its own little herb garden. Check out our ‘Family Foodie Fun Break’, or book a local personal chef, if you are up for a real treat. Or click here to check out Mazzard Farm’s great Foodie break offer in conjunction with the Rusty Pig Restaurant.
Furthermore, we can help you with sourcing gorgeous local produce, or indeed assist you in finding a chef who would happily do it all for you. You may also want to know that Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s current River Cottage is just some 20 minutes away. Have a look at the site for numerous events you may wish to sign up for. And if you want to treat yourself to a great meal out, there are some great options locally, with no fewer than two of the main winners in the most recent Taste of the West Awards (Jack in the Green and the Holt) within a 15 minute journey from us. Our links page provides you with some of the local suppliers available, or check out this site, full of inspirational places to eat and drink in East Devon.
In fact, why not ask us to pull together an East Devon Gourmet Break for you. We would be delighted, at no extra cost, to suggest a full itinerary, taking in the best places to eat and drink, as well as great farm shops such as Darts Farm and Joshua’s Harvest Store, and not to forget the famous, multiple award winning Christopher Piper Wine Store in Ottery St. Mary.
We also run a number of residential courses, some with food as its main focus.
