Hello, my name is Anne Codling and I could be your personal chef for the night. Whether for a special occasion, or just a family meal, I would love to be of assistance. You can enjoy a relaxing evening and have a drink and a meal in the comfort of your ‘own’ cottage.
Over the past 12 years, I have learned a lot about cooking, and the best produce needed. I am very passionate about food, and very much enjoy the entire cooking experience. From sourcing great local produce to preparing, cooking and serving the meal. I have learned a lot from many talented chefs in the restaurants and hotels I have worked in. My career in cooking started at the Tumbling Weir Hotel in Ottery St. Mary, which was followed by spells at the famous Jack in the Green in Rockbeare and the Deer Park Hotel in Weston. When the opportunity to work in London came up, I decided to relocate, and worked for almost 9 years in well-known establishments such as the Oxo Tower on the South Bank, and the Lanesborough Hotel in Hyde Park. In the latter, I worked as a Pastry chef.
I enjoy all types of cooking, from simple home cooked food to very elaborate menus. My menus are very adaptable, and you can create your own to suit your occasion. Children’s menus are available, and all dietary needs are catered for. My service includes table decorations and flower arrangements. All drinks can be provided to compliment your choice of menus. I also provide a hamper and picnic service, with everything delivered to your cottage, as well as freshly made ready meals such as lasagnas, flans, etc.
Where at all possible, I will use local produce, provided by highly reputable local providers such as Christopher Piper Wines, Ruth Hancock’s of Fluxton (fruit and vegetables), Ottery Health Store (dried commodities), Four Elms in Newton Poppleford (juices) and Fish/Seafood from Sidmouth.
