Free Things To Do Near Mazzard Farm
We know that for many families, holidays can easily become very expensive. But they don't have to be! Here at Mazzard Farm we are lucky to be surrounded by lots of things you can enjoy for absolutely no money. Check them out below.
Attractions & Culture
We are lucky to have a lot around us where no entrance fee is charged at all. The obvious one is of course the brilliant Donkey Sanctuary, but don't forget a whole raft of local museums, as well as the RAMM (Royal Albert Memorial Museum) in Exeter, THG (Thelma Hulbert Gallery) in Honiton and the Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre, to name a few.
Wildlife and Nature
Mazzard Farm is surrounded by two Area's of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB's) and of course the Jurassic Coast Unesco World Heritage Coast. But there is so much more. Miles of South West Coast Path, the East Devon Way, Pebblebed Heaths, the Seaton Wetlands as well as the Exe Estuary. And let's not forget Dartmoor National Park. All offering wonderful countryside as well as (often unparalleled) wild- and birdlife. So much to see and enjoy.
Dining Out
Of course, we have some cracking pubs, restaurants and bars in the area. But sometimes the most wonderful dining experience is where you have taken a pic nic to a magical spot. Or a BBQ on the beach (check for permission!). One of our favourites (although arguably not entirely free of charge) is to take fish and chips on to the beaches of either Beer or Sidmouth.

Beaches
Of course, this one is very much weather dependent. Or is it? Here in East Devon we are lucky to have many sunny beach days, but even when the weather isn't so good, beaches always attract. All year round!
Festivals and Events
East Devon hosts many events and festivals, with some being completely free of charge to attend, and others with lots of free events included. Think Sidmouth Folk Week, Ottery St Mary Food & Families Festival, Seafest, Sidmouth Jazz and Blues, Taste East Devon. Literally lots for everyone!
