Coming to Mazzard Farm in November or December
Winter at Mazzard Farm has many attractions
'Selling' East Devon as a great place to holiday in Spring, Summer or early Autumn isn't hard. In fact, it sells itself! Yet, November and December have their attractive sides too! First of all, it's much quieter, so if you're looking to get some much needed rest and revitalisation, there are much worse places to be. It is very affordable too! And because of where we are, it never feels 'shut down'. The beautiful towns, villages and seaside near Mazzard Farm tend to be open 365 days a year, so no, you won't be looking at closed shutters. We have listed some of what may attract you to East Devon in the winter months below.
Great Events in East Devon and Exeter
November and December sees a number of great events organised locally. The famous Ottery Tar Barrels on 5 November (must be experienced to understand), Exeter Christmas Market, South Devon Train of Lights and the Polar Express at Seaton Tramwy, to name a few. And there are lots of local Light Switching On events, allowing you to buy some quirky presents only the local independent shops sell.
Exploring the Jurassic Coast & Beaches
Nothing beats a refreshing coastal or beach walk when winter starts to set in. Mazzard Farm is situated on East Hill, which is not only an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), but also links Mazzard Farm with the Jurassic Coast at Sidmouth, which covers 95 miles of truly stunning coastline from East Devon to Dorset, with rocks recording 185 million years of the Earth’s history.
And when finished, why not pop in to one of the lovely pubs or restaurants in the area?
Family Time
With cottages sleeping between 2 and 10, and total capacity of 24, Mazzard Farm can host gatherings of family and / or friends, and in this time of year it is at its most affordable. For a party of 10, we can offer our interconnected Quarenden & Damson Cottages, whlch sleeps 10, for as little as £20p.p.p.n.
Guide to East Devon
We have produced a very useful and popular, 30-page, Guide to the Area, full of ideas of things to do, places to visit, eat and drink, etc., which we e-mail to everyone enquiring about, or booking, a stay at Mazzard Farm.
We would be delighted to e-mail you a copy! Just drop us an e-mail at info@mazzardfarm.com and we'll mail you one in return.
The Festive Season
Whether you are looking to stay with just your immediate family or with an extended party, Mazzard Farm can offer you a lovely warm and cosy space to celebrate. Remember we offer log burners in all cottages (except Bramley), and as far as catering is concerned, we have plenty of local suppliers who can cater for most needs.
